2023 LRC Greenock Shiraz
98% Shiraz-2% Riesling – Greenock, Barossa Valley. Single row of 1967 planted vines.  Dry farmed on sandy loam over heavy red clay and calcare. Elevation: 269-280m. Handpicked, 100% whole bunch fermentation with wild yeast, 3 week fermentation/skin contact.  Basket pressed to 100% French oak hogsheads for 20 months. No fining or filtration. 14.0% Alc.  Mail Order: $60/bottle.
 
Tasting Notes: Lifted cranberry, cloves, pepper, smoked meats, carbon and oregano. On the palate, red and black fruits sit alongside beef stock gravy, cloves and other dark spices.  Beautiful fine tannins bring balance to the beautiful red currant/raspberry and blue berry fruit.  Lavendar and flower lifts bring an ethereal quality.
